Since the year 2000, Mada has been working for the creation of a natural park in the mountains of North Lebanon.
In 2006, Mada defined a pilot zone with an approximate area of 270 square kilometers, stretching from Brissa to Qobayat, and signed cooperation protocols with the concerned municipalities (Qabait, Hrar, Muchmuch and Fnaideq) in order to elaborate together a plan for the management and value enhancement of the natural resources of this region. |

The biodiversity studies (Flora and Avifauna) started in 2006 and still going on in 2007 prove scientifically the richness of these regions. Based on a series of maps (land occupation mode, vegetation, urban development etc..) discussions are held with the municipalities on their lands vocation.A new study on the biodiversity of mammals in the regions will soon be conducted. |
